Its finally here! We we’re delayed a little, but we now have a stable alpha. So what’s new in 3Cx Phone System V7? All versions Completely revamped interface, with many usability improvements Ability to set advanced forwarding rules per extension based on caller ID, time received and whether its an internal or an external call Apache was replaced by a Microsoft Web Server, Cassini, which is more windows friendly, or optionally IIS can be used Added support for running as a virtual instance in Hyper V New configuration wizard which makes first setup easier Improved performance of system. MyPhone User portal is now also available on the free edition Mini, Small Business, Pro and Enterprise editions Ability to offer callers a way to exit out of the queue and leave a message instead of waiting Ability to have callers go straight to voice mail if no one is manning the queue. Support for using Sangoma cards as VoIP Gateways, either installed on the same machine or on a remote machine Resolve inbound calls to an outlook contact – incoming calls can automatically bring up the appropriate contact record based on the caller ID You can download 3CX Phone System v7 Alpha from here Known issues There is still quite a few known issues.

How to change the maximum duration of a VoiceMail message

3CX Phone System has a coded limit that controls the duration of a voicmeail message. This is set by default to 120 seconds. However in certain circumstances you may wish to change the 3CX Voicemail timeout from the default of 2 minutes (120 seconds) to something else. In this case we will show how we can change it to 5 minutes. This change can be achieved as follows: Step1: Navigate to one of the following folders, depending on the Operating system you are running. Why do my Calls end after 3 hours?

This is done to prevent a scenario where a person makes a call somewhere and for some reason he forgets to hang up AND the gateway does not detect the hangup. This avoids unterminated calls going on for ever, and helps to avoid charges for such unterminated calls. This is a fail safe feature. The PBX is set to end calls every 10800 Seconds. This Value can be changed to any time value you like from the 3CX Phone System Management Console. Go to “Settings -> Advanced -> Custom Parameters” and scroll to the parameter called “MAXCALLDURATION”
