3CX Phone System for Windows RC2 available

3CX Assistant in a new jacket We have added a bunch of new features to RC2 – little stuff but very handy. Probably the biggest visible change is the new look of 3CX Assistant – we’ve made it look more ‘universally appealing’. Other improvements: Polycom Personal Directories are now provisioned. Improved Myphone interface Ability to trigger a call from the Extension status page in MyPhone Removed SIP AUTHENTICATION tab in the MyPhone page – Can be enabled from the global parameters page MYPHONESIPAUTH Phone book directories are now updated automatically each time an extension is added, Reeboot using SIP notify is possible for Snom, Linksys by commenting out reboot link in template Added support for G7Eleven VoIP provider Improved Inphonex and Voip Unlimited templates Faxes can now be received from VoIP providers that correctly support T38 fax. Provisioning unsupported IP phones

Introduction HTTP provisioning of phone sets is useful for an administrator as it helps to automate the process of configuring the phone set for a particular extension. The administrator creates the extension as usual, and in addition specifies the MAC address of the phone. 3CX includes ready phone provisioning templates for the most popular IP Phones in the market. However, in some cases companies wish to use other IP Phones and still use phone provisioning. In these cases you can create your own phone provisioning templates. This article explains how Once the extension is created, a configuration for the specified phone set is created using the MAC address as the file name in the following directory: For Windows XP / 2003: %allusersprofile%application data3cxdatahttpinterfaceprovisioning For Windows Vista / 2008: %allusersprofile%3cxdatahttpinterfaceprovisioning The phone is then configured to download the configuration from this directory via the 3CX HTTP server on next start-up

Release of 3CX Phone System v7 Alpha 2

We have now tackled most known issues and released Alpha 2 (bulid 3190) of version 7.0: Fixed IIS issues on Windows server 2003, Server 2008 both including MyPhone Web interface and IVR. Improved version of My Phone User Portal (Voicemail section not implemented) Ability to select multiple pre-downloaded prompt sets in the System Prompts page Backup and restore v7 to v7 completed Backup and restore v6 to v7 completed (with some known issues) Fixes in outbound rules logic and interface elements Fixed Firewall checker on 64 bit OS Make Call / HTTP API is finalized Added provisioning for Grandstream GXP2010 & changes to Linksys phone provisioning Added Outbound Caller ID display in the Extension and port/trunk status We have also added some NEW features that were not available on the first Alpha: Ability for member in a RingGroup/Queue to contact an external number (mobile) based on a Forward All condition in the extensions forwarding rule Added DID or Line inbound routing to the Conference Extension Added UK System Prompts You can download 3CX Phone System for Windows Alpha 2 from here .
