How do I install the Microsoft Windows Vista fax client?

System requirements for the clients: Windows Fax and Scan should be installed. Print Services should also be enabled. The Fax printer on the Server machine should be shared to network users. Network Users should be granted permission to be able to print on this Fax Printer. To install the client: Click on Start, Programs and click on ‘Windows Fax and Scan’.

How does 3CX Phone System decide whether a call is internal or external?

When is a call internal or external? Calls are decided to be either local or external based on whether the contact IP of an inbound SIP packet is local or not. To check whether the IP is local, 3CX Phone System uses the following process: It queries all IPs assignedto the PC on which it is installed. Using the subnet masks assigned, it checks whether the IP is local ACCORDING to windows. In addition, it also checks a configuration file for a list of local subnets.

How to change the maximum duration of a VoiceMail message

3CX Phone System has a coded limit that controls the duration of a voicmeail message. This is set by default to 120 seconds. However in certain circumstances you may wish to change the 3CX Voicemail timeout from the default of 2 minutes (120 seconds) to something else. In this case we will show how we can change it to 5 minutes. This change can be achieved as follows: Step1: Navigate to one of the following folders, depending on the Operating system you are running. Why do my Calls end after 3 hours?

This is done to prevent a scenario where a person makes a call somewhere and for some reason he forgets to hang up AND the gateway does not detect the hangup. This avoids unterminated calls going on for ever, and helps to avoid charges for such unterminated calls. This is a fail safe feature. The PBX is set to end calls every 10800 Seconds. This Value can be changed to any time value you like from the 3CX Phone System Management Console. Go to “Settings -> Advanced -> Custom Parameters” and scroll to the parameter called “MAXCALLDURATION”
